Day 19 - Tuesday night
Back in West Hollywood.
So we’re crammed into different criminally expensive
nooks and crannies with twice as many people (courtesy of the extras)
trying not to knock over anything, and we hear over the radios
ricocheting in the room that someone on the outside suddenly needs a
Locations person. “Why?” “The sprinklers just came on in
the park!” where our lunch was being set up.
Later, Locations Carrie told me Props had a cheap
break-a-way
pottery they were planning to put near Lonnie so it would shatter when
he touched it and watch him freak out, but she put a stop to it
(admitting it would have been hilarious if you were anybody but the
person it happened to).
Drag queen night – we needed the crowd to look West
Hollywood even thought the extras sent to us looked like a summer
camp. Wardrobe Tracy and Marcy were not inspired. They
needed a
couple of drag queens, so they sent Craig to find two smallish men to
fit into the dresses they had. And before you know it, two really
straight guys were shyly walking onto the set. A short while
later, 2nd 2nd Jodie stepped onto the set wearing a fluffy blonde wig
and make-up under her head-set. Her reply to the surprised looks
was, “Enya and Stella are bored. Stay away from them.” By
the time the crowd stepped onto set, two large gorgeous men entered,
one in a killer pink dress with fans of descending size down her
front. Tracy said they were the real McCoy, Alfredo pulled them
off the street.
Not nearly as much fun as the night before.
