That 4
Friends Movie
Day 8 - Tuesday
Today, our location was great! Point Magoo
beach, north of Malibu and Zuma. Beautiful. Fortunately, we
shot there all day, so we had gorgeous relaxing scenery to keep
everything reasonably calm. Our first shot was up on the PCH,
where our four actors would ride down the road. Before we could
shoot, we had to wait for a new zoom lens, due to the current one
vignetting (having the edges darken like old timey photos).
During this time, Harry led Richard and Jane in a riveting game of
movie
cast trivia. One would say a star or a movie, and the next would
alternate (“Robert Redford” “The Sting”
“Paul Newman” “Absence of Malice”).
Harry was rocking, having absolutely no letters while the others were
making mistakes and rapidly building “L-O-S-E-R” scores.
Unfortunately, while they were slowly getting started, a few of us
didn’t understand what was going on and were blurting out answers to
questions they were asking themselves, which drove Harry nuts.
“If you’re going to play, play, but DON’T BARGE IN!” Before you
knew it, a PA who was starting with us today, got roped in and Harry
was yelling at him in his Robert Deniro persona (“You tink you can f**k
with ME?”). A favorite moment was when Richard was supposed to
name Kelly Lynch and he couldn’t come up with her name. “And I’ve
worked with her!” he cried in frustration.
Later, we moved down to Point Magoo beach, near base
camp, where we were going to film the big scene with Vince, Stephen and
Danny.
Nearly the end of the day, Harry’s back into his
Italian vulgar lingo, and I said, “Geez, I feel like I’m in a Scorsese
movie,” which immediately got Harry’s eyes looking at me. “What
did you say?” he asked brightening. I repeated myself. “Do
I offend your Catholic school girl upbringing?” he asked, which I
thought was funny, especially since I wasn't Catholic. I smiled
bashfully. He really brightened
up. “Did I make you blush?” which I thought was even funnier.
